Microsoft Edge is now the second most popular desktop browser

Microsoft Edge has a slight lead over Apple Safari.

Microsoft Edge is the second most popular desktop browser according to web analytics service StatCounter.

According to StatCounter's data, Microsoft Edge is used on 10.07% of desktop computers worldwide while Apple' Safari is used on 9.61%. Google Chrome is still the most popular desktop browser with 66.64% market share. Mozilla's Firefox comes in at fourth position with 7.86%. Opera has 2.43% share while Internet Explorer has a tiny market share of 0.97%. 

When it comes to mobile platforms, Chrome still dominates at 62.87% while Safari takes 25.35% of the market share. Samsung Internet ranks third with 20.65%.
