The new Mac Studio.
Apple announced an updated Mac Studio at WWDC 2023. The spec-bump update includes Apple's newest M2-generation chips, specifically the M2 Max and M2 Ultra.
The M2 Ultra, like its predecessor the M1 Ultra, is an extra-large chip that fuses to M2 Max together using an ultra-high-speed interconnect called UltraFusion. According to Apple, the M2 Max's CPU is 20% faster while its GPU is 30% faster.
And now that the first M2 Ultra benchmarks are surfacing, it seems that Apple's claims are almost spot on. According to results on Geekbench 6, the M2 Ultra in the Mac Studio managed single-core and multi-core scores of 2,837 and 21,730 respectively.
For comparison, an M1 Ultra typically gets scores of around 2,390 and 18,300. This means the M2 Ultra is about 18% faster. It's also the fastest chip that Apple has ever made.
Prices of the Mac Studio start at S$2,999 and you can find it on Amazon, Lazada, Shopee, and the Apple Online Store.
