InWin's Diéy Signature Chassis has RGB scales and sits suspended in mid-air
Well, I've never seen a case like this one.
This is a ball covered with scales.
InWin trotted out its 10th Signature Chassis at CES 2020, and boy is it something to look at. The Diéy, or Butterfly, is inspired by the previous Yǒng Signature Chassis, which was itself modelled after a chrysalis. It quite literally resembles a giant cocoon of sorts, and it's covered with RGB scales. On top of that, it doesn't do anything quite as ordinary as sitting on a table. No, it's suspended from an arched beam, giving the impression of a very high-tech chandelier.
There are in total 80 Ocean Blue scales, each with their own ARGB lighting that respond to four preset lighting effects. The case is also a sphere, so you can enjoy the show from pretty much any angle.
InWin says the Diéy can react to the rhythm of music, and it also features a built-in AI that supports face detection and voice and hand gesture controls. Multiple voice assistant services are supported too, so you can pick your favourite.
The scales cover a more standard full-tower chassis, which has room for large E-ATX motherboards and up to four 3.5- or 2.5-inch drives. It also has eight expansion slots and mounts for large 360mm radiators, pretty standard fare for an enthusiast case today. The front panel I/O holds a USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-C and two USB 3.0 ports as well.
The chassis lacks any side panels though, so InWin says thermal performance is much improved since any heat can easily escape the system.
