Two new PC form factors were announced by Microsoft last week at Computex 2015. Also unveiled were two Windows10-based devices that showcased the PC form factors. The first device is the Quanta Compute Plug, which is a mini-PC housed in a power plug. It connects to the HDMI port of any display device and transforms it into a PC that operates on Windows 10. According to Microsoft, it also enables users to operate the display device using Cortana and a Bluetooth remote or headset. Cortana is Microsoft’s mobile phone personal assistant; the company’s answer to Apple’s Siri and Google Now. From the photos of the device, we see a pair of USB 3.0 ports and a HDMI port. The exact specifications of the Quanta Compute Plug are still kept under wraps; however, we can safely assume it is likely to be powered by the Intel Cherry Trail CPU, just like the next device from FoxConn.

The FoxConn Kangaroo is an ultra-portable desktop PC that will turn a current TV set into a Windows 10-based PC. The Kangaroo is powered by an Intel Cherry Trail CPU and it packs a “six-hour battery”. It also boasts of a fingerprint scanner that supports Windows Hello; a technology that lets you access your devices through biometric authentication. Like the Intel Compute Stick, these two new devices aren’t meant for playing PC games but they are capable of allowing you to turn any supported display device into a full-fledged Windows 10 PC. Best of all, they can be tucked away neatly.
