Transcend jumps onto 3D NAND bandwagon with new SSD230 SSD

Transcend has adopted 3D TLC NAND for its newest 2.5-inch SSD230 SSD. Find out how this new drive performs and its pricing inside.

Transcend's latest SSD is called the SSD230 and it comes in a 2.5-inch form factor and uses 3D TLC NAND.

To improve performance it also features SLC caching technology and has a DDR3 DRAM cache.

Maximum sequential performance is rated at 560MB/s read and 520MB/s write.

While maximum random 4K read and write performance is rated at 85,000 IOPs both ways, which is decent.

To help users manage and monitor their drives, the Transcend SSD230 will come with Transcend's SSD Scope drive management utility.

The Transcend SSD230 is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities, but only the smallest 128GB capacity will be available in Singapore for now. Price is S$119.
