The Synology DiskStation DS416j comes with a dual-core CPU, and Synology claims the DiskStation DS416j can exceed 112MB/s reading and 101MB/s writing under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment. The NAS also features a built-in floating-point unit (FPU) which enhances the CPU, while providing a boost to thumbnail generation speed. The Synology DiskStation DS416j also comes equipped with a USB 3.0 port, which can allow it to directly connect to devices like external HDDs.

Like the DiskStation DS216play, the DiskStation DS416j also runs on the DiskStation Manager (DSM), Synology's browser based OS, which allows you to manage your NAS in an easily accessible and understandable interface.

The Synology DiskStation DS416j NAS is available now for $450.
