One of the first to support VMware vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI) technologies, the DSM 4.1 was designed to boost business productivity and management efficiency with evolved Cloud Station, Syslog Server, and Mail Server. On top of that, it features the new Video Station, advanced Photo Station, Audio Station, mobile apps, and Surveillance Station 6.

The DSM 4.1 offloads various data operations from Hypervisor to DiskStation and RackStation by performing Full Copy, Zero Block, Atomic Test & Set (ATS) and Storage Reclamation, resulting in boosted performance and optimized storage space in a demanding vSphere 5.0 environment.

The Synology DSM 4.1 beta is free to download for users who own a DiskStation or RackStation x09 series and onward.
