Sony launches a new series of memory cards this month. With the old H series' transfer rate limited to 125MB/s, the S-series can transfer data at the rate of 168MB/s. These fast cards will most definitely come in handy when shooting continuous raw photos or HD videos that have high data rate. It was even mentioned that it can support shooting a men's 100m sprint continuously from start to finish. In addition, the XQD S-series comes in 32- and 64-gigabyte capacity to store media that transfers to thunderbolt-enabled computers.

The XQD S Series memory cards (in both capacities) will be available from selected Sony authorized dealers starting July 2012.
