Samsung has just announced their mSATA solid state drives (SSDs) for ultra-thin notebooks. These drives are available in the following capacities; 64-, 128- and 256GB, and the 32GB variant is for caching purposes.

The drives measure 50.95- x 30- x 3.8mm, with a weight of only eight grams. These drives are the latest addition to Samsung's PM830 series that was launched earlier this year. As an added security feature, the Samsung mSATA SSDs "feature an advanced hardware-based security solution including 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) protection, which will prevent unauthorized access to data on a lost or stolen notebook PC."
