Kingston has pulled back the curtain on its Fury Renegade G5, its high-performance PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 drive. Targeted squarely at gamers and PC enthusiasts, it promises to be a compelling option for those looking to jump into a full PCIe 5.0 PC build.

Powered by a PCIe Gen5 x4 controller and 3D TLC NAND, the Fury Renegade G5 boasts sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and 14,000MB/s, respectively. That write speed seems to give it a very slight edge over the very-impressive Samsung SSD 9100 Pro, which we recently reviewed (read it here). At least on paper.

Kingston’s decision to opt for the Silicon Motion SM2508 controller, built on a 6nm process, also underscores its focus on efficiency alongside raw power. Paired with low-power DDR4 DRAM cache, the G5 is designed to keep energy consumption and thermal output in check.

The Fury Renegade G5 is available in 1TB ($289), 2TB ($469), and 4TB ($889) capacities and backed by a limited 5-year warranty, and is available for purchase at Kingston's official store at Lazada (click here to buy).
