Beyond the new Xiaomi 11T phones and Pad 5 tablet, Xiaomi is also launching the Mi Smart Band 6 NFC, the Mi Smart Projector 2, and Xiaomi Mesh System AX300 (2-Pack) Wi-fi 6 router. Here are the details!
Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 NFC
Building upon the SpO2-capable Mi Smart Band 6 is the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 NFC, which adds full-fledged NFC capabilities to its feature set. The NFC function permits cashless payments for groceries, public transport, or other contactless payment scenarios.
The new wearable also comes with Amazon Alexa built in, making it play nice with any other Amazon home products you have lying about.
Returning features are its other health-tracking features, like sleep tracking, stress detection, and breathing guidance.
The Mi Smart Band 6 NFC retails at EUR54.90. Local pricing and availability are to be advised.
Mi Smart Projector 2
We’ve no idea why the Mi Smart Projector 2 comes after the Pro version, but we’re happy that there’s an alternative available to folks who want a portable home cinema projector.
The Mi Smart Projector 2 offers 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD resolution projection with support for Dolby Audio on all its sound sources. It features multi-angle auto-keystone correction and auto-focusing, so this plug-and-play device can be left alone to get a nice square projection onto walls or screens.
Mi Smart Projector 2 is also compatible with the Android TV operating system, thanks to its built-in Google Assistant support.
The Mi Smart Projector 2 officially retails at EUR599. Local pricing and availability to be revealed at a later date.
Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000
The Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 is a mesh router that comes in a pair (two-pack), with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 support of up to 4,000sqft coverage (approx. 371sqm, the size of three five-room HDB flats).
It can support connectivity of up to 254 devices, using 1024QAM modulation, OFDMA, and 2x2 MIMO to share the connection around. However, Xiaomi didn’t specify its dual-band speeds, so we’re not privy to how they got AX3000 in total.
As a mesh router setup, it supports seamless network switching when users move about different rooms and latch on to different endpoints. The system also offers a self-repairing process that reorganises the network if any device goes offline.
The Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 (two-pack) retails at EUR 149. Local pricing and availability to be announced at a later time.
