Securifi's Almond routers, which feature easy to use touchscreen interfaces, are now available in Singapore.

The Securifi Almond+ router is small and compact - a refreshing change from today's mega size routers.

Securifi is the latest networking brand to hit the town. The brand is most famous for its Almond routers which have touchscreen interfaces that allows for quick and easy setups and management.

The Almond+ is Securifi's latest router and it is a dual-band router that supports speeds of up to 1750Mbps - 1300Mbps on its 5GHz band and 450Mbps on its 2.4GHz band.

It has the usual single Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, but one ups the competition by having two USB 3.0 ports - most routers only have a single USB 3.0 port, the other is usually only USB 2.0. And like any other high-end router, the Almond+ has features like port forwarding, USB file sharing and VPN server.

Most of all, the Almond+ router's claim to fame is its 3.5-inch touchscreen. The touchscreen interface allows users to quickly setup and access important settings without the need of a computer, notebook, tablet or app. According to Securifi, it says most users will be able to get their routers up and running within three minutes.

Beyond that, the Almond+ was designed to be a smarthome hub for all your other smart devices. It supports both ZigBee and Z-Wave home automation standards and can connect to hundreds of these compatible sensors, which can then be monitored and managed using a mobile app. Since these sensor connect using the ZigBee or Z-Wave specification, there will be no detrimental effect on Wi-Fi performance.

Using the Almond app, users can setup rules for their sensors.

And using the Almond+, these sensors can be programmed to trigger notifications, events and schedules. For instance, a motion sensor can be programmed to automatically turn on the lights; a window sensor can trigger the alarm should it be opened after hours.

Apart from the Almond+, there's also the Almond 2015 and Almond routers. Unlike the Almond+, the Almond 2015 and Almond routers are single-band routers that broadcast a single 2.4GHz network and offers speeds of up to 300Mbps. Additionally, the Almond 2015 supports ZigBee, but not Z-Wave. The basic Almond, on the other hand, supports neither specifications.

All three routers are available now with the Almond+ retailing at S$349.90, the Almond 2015 at S$139.90, and the Almond at S$111.90

The sensors are also available for purchase with the motion sensor at S$55.90 and the door and window sensor at S$41.90.
