Microsoft's latest Windows update patches a serious Wi-Fi flaw and you should drop everything you are doing and install it immediately.

The vulnerability, which was discovered earlier by The Register, has the code CVE-2024-30078. According to The Register, it is a "Wi-Fi driver remote code execution hole" and it has a severity rating of 8.8.

In plain English, it allows an attacker to send malicious networking packets to devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

What's worse is that these attackers can then remotely run commands and gain access to the devices all without any intervention or authentication on the device owners' part.

If it's any consolation, Microsoft says this vulnerability isn't publicly disclosed and is unlikely to be exploited yet.

Microsoft rolled out the update to fix this flaw on 11 June, so update your PC if you haven't already to protect yourself from this serious Wi-Fi flaw.
