MediaTek's new T800 5G modem supports download speeds of up to 7.9Gbps

The MediaTek T800 5G modem supports both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G.

MediaTek just announced a new 5G modem, the T800.

Designed for both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) networks, the MediaTek T800 5G modem supports download speeds of up to 7.9Gbps and upload speeds of up to 4.2Gbps. 

The MediaTek T800 5G modem is built on a 4nm process and integrates PCIe + USB host interfaces, It also supports dual 5G SIM (DSDS) and comes with MediaTek's latest 5G UltraSave power-efficiency technologies to optimise battery life for all 5G connections.

MediaTek believes the T800 5G modem will drive innovative 5G "beyond smartphone" applications such as industrial IoT, M2M and always-connected PCs.
