Linksys' Velop Pro 6E mesh networking system has been around for a while and it's now finally available in Singapore.
With Wi-Fi 7 looming on the horizon, the question that must be on everyone's is if it's worth getting a Wi-Fi 6E router now?
While there's no denying that Wi-Fi 7 is the future, the fact is that outside of a handful of new smartphones and laptops, there aren't many client devices that support Wi-Fi 7. Furthermore, most Wi-Fi 7 routers and mesh networking systems are frightfully expensive.
This makes Wi-Fi 6E routers and mesh systems viable solutions for folks who aren't quite ready to jump on the Wi-Fi 7 bandwagon.

The Velop Pro 6E is a tri-band mesh networking system that supports a total data transfer rate of 5,400Mbps. The breakdown is as follows:
- 2.4GHz network - 600Mbps
- 5GHz network - 2,400Mbps
- 6GHz network - 2,400Mbps
In terms of wired connectivity, each Velop Pro 6E node has a single Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and another Gigabit Ethernet LAN port.
Like any high-end mesh networking system, the Velop Pro 6E has a Cognitive Mesh feature that automatically optimises your mesh network to deliver maximum performance. It supports both wireless and wired backhaul.
Linksys says one of the highlights of the Velop Pro 6E is its ease of use. The company claims they have reduced set-up time by two-thirds, and that most users should be able to get it up and running in under 10 minutes.

The Linksys Velop Pro 6E mesh networking system is available now at Lazada, Shopee, and Challenger stores.
From now until 31 July, you can get it at special promotion prices where a one-pack is S$299 and a two-pack is S$439.
The usual price for a one-pack is S$359, while a two-pack bundle is S$659.
