Belkin's Latest 900Mbps Wireless Dual-Band Router Unveiled
Belkin announced their latest and greatest dual-band N+ wireless router geared for users who desire the best in speed and range that wireless can offer today. The new Advance N900 DB is built to reach transfer speeds of up to 900Mbps on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously.
Not wanting to be left behind the 900Mbps wireless router bandwagon, Belkin finally announced their latest Advance N900 DB wireless router that has the capability to reach speeds of up to 900Mbps using both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously. Revealed at the CES Unveiled 2012 event today, the Advance N900 DB uses the IEEE 3x3 standard to transmit three streams, which gives 50 percent more throughput. Belkin also boasts of its exclusive use of the MultiBeam technology that delivers a high-powered signal for higher and more consistent network speeds while minimizing the number of wireless dead spots. It comes with 6 embedded MultiBeam antennas and it is optimized for video streaming from multiple devices, throughout the whole home.
Other features found in the Belkin Advance N900 DB include the IntelliStream quality of service (QoS) which automatically prioritizes video and gaming streams to eliminate buffering for uninterrupted streaming, and a 600MHz multi-thread processor that enables high-bandwidth multitasking across all devices on the network. There are also two high-speed USB 2.0 ports for ultra-fast access to attached network storage or wireless printing, and four gigabit ports for those that prefer the stability offered by wired connections.
The N900 Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router will be available in April in the United States with a price tag of US$199.99.
