ASUS unveils a more affordable but still crazy fast ROG Wi-Fi 7 gaming router at Computex 2024

This high-end Wi-Fi 7 router supports a maximum data transfer rate of 19,000Mbps.

ASUS has unveiled yet another high-end Wi-Fi 7 gaming router at Computex 2024. If you are new to Wi-Fi 7, read our guide here.

This isn’t ASUS’ first high-end Wi-Fi 7 router. The first was the absolutely bonkers ROG Rapture GT-BE98, which is a quad-band router capable of delivering a maximum data rate of 25,000Mbps.

The new one is called the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000. And you might have probably already guessed, it supports a maximum wireless data transfer rate of 19,000Mbps.

The slightly lower speed is because this router broadcasts three networks instead of four. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 2.4GHz - up to 1,376Mbps
  • 5GHz - up to 5,764Mbps
  • 6GHz - up to 11,529Mbps

While these wireless speeds certainly sound exciting, it’s important to note that they can only be achieved with compatible Wi-Fi 7 client devices. As of now, there are only a handful of devices that do support Wi-Fi 7 (like Samsung's new Galaxy S24 series).

More important, I think, is its excellent port selection that fully maximises high-speed fibre plans. It has a 10Gbps WAN port as well as a 2.5Gbps WAN port. Furthermore, these ports can double up as LAN ports. And speaking of LAN ports, it has a 10Gbps LAN port and three 2.5Gbps LAN ports. It also has two USB-A ports – one that supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 and another that supports USB 2.0.

The ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 also supports ASUS’ Smart AiMesh, which allows it to work with other compatible ASUS routers to create a mesh network.

From the looks of it, the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 looks like an interesting option for anyone who is looking to get a suitably high-end Wi-Fi 7 router but perhaps does not need all of the bandwidth of the earlier ROG Rapture GT-BE98.

Availability and pricing

Local availability and pricing details have yet to be determined. We’ll update this article as soon as we get them.

That said, it’s probably safe to assume that the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 will cost slightly less than the ROG Rapture GT-BE98, which is currently S$1,099.
