Apple's 5G modem chip might not arrive until 2025.
According to Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, the Apple iPhone 16 models are expected to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon X75 modem. The Snapdragon X75 modem is likely to be built on TSMC's 4nm process.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in July that Apple encountered development and legal issues with its own 5G modem, and Qualcomm would still be the exclusive supplier of modem chips for the iPhone 15 in 2023. The iPhone 15 is rumoured to be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 modem.
