Besides making smart TVs, routers, smart power plugs, air and water purifiers, Xiaomi is said to be entering the notebook market early next year.

According to Bloomberg, sources with direct knowledge of the matter claim that Xiaomi's first notebook could be available for purchase in Q1 2016. It is also designed to compete with offerings from Apple and Lenovo. Moreover, it will source memory chips from Samsung.

This isn't the first time that Xiaomi is rumored to be developing a notebook. In December 2014, an alleged image of a Xiaomi laptop surfaced on the Internet which revealed an aluminum design similar to the Apple MacBook Air. Subsequently, a Xiaomi representative dismissed the photo as fake.
