It's official, Samsung is headed for the Ivy Bridge. Well, for the Series 7  Chronos and Gamer anyway. Both of Samsung's high-end notebooks will be getting a substantial update that will see it start packing some impressive hardware. The 15.6-inch (1600 x 900 pixel resolution) Chonos is getting a 1TB hard drive, 8GB of memory running at 1600MHz and an Intel Core i7-3615QM CPU (2.30 GHz, 6 MB L3 Cache).

The Gamer on the other hand, with its full HD 17-inch display, is getting a larger 1.5TB hard drive, twice the amount of memory and a slightly lower Intel Core i7-3610QM processor. For graphics, the both notebooks are getting NVIDIA's new Kepler-based GPUs, with the Chronos getting the GT 640M, and the Gamer getting the GTX 675M. Unofficially, the 13-inch Series 5 notebook is also said getting a refresh, supposedly getting Ivy Bridge Core i7 and Core i5 options, up to 8GB of RAM and a 24GB SSD for its OS, along with a 500GB traditional HDD.
