Huawei just announced it is holding a global launch event in the first week of May. It will be held on 7 May (Tuesday) in Dubai.

According to posts on its socials, Huawei states that the event is an "innovative product launch" where consumers "step into the future with Huawei wearables, MateBook and MatePad Series".

Huawei is expected to unveil a new smartwatch and a global variant of the MateBook X Pro 2024. Oddly, the Chinese company did not mention anything about new smartphones.

Huawei recently took the wraps off the Pura 70 smartphones, which are powered by the Kirin 9010 chipset. The Pura lineup succeeded the P series as part of a rebranding effort by the company.

Sources claimed in September last year that Huawei is planning a return to the global phone market. It aims to sell 5G phones in global markets following the successful local launch of the Huawei Mate 60 and Mate X5 phones.

Could Huawei save the best for the last and announce its official return to the global phone market during the event?
