It comes as no surprise that HP has refreshed its Envy 13 ultrabook with Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors.
The new Envy 13 is equipped with either seventh-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, up to 16GB of RAM (the older model only supported up to 8GB, and a 1TB PCIe SSD. The base display configuration is a 1,920 x 1,080-pixel panel, but it is available in 1440p and 2160p options as well. The 1440p option is available with a touchscreen display as well, and you can opt for an edge-to-edge flush glass display if you go with the 1440p and 2160p models.
And like most other HP products, the dual-firing speakers have been tuned by Bang & Olufsen.

HP also managed to cram in a larger battery, but it has had to make certain trade-offs to accommodate the bigger battery pack and more powerful Kaby Lake processors. At 14mm thick and weighing around 1.43kg, it is slightly heavier and thicker than its predecessor. That said, you can take comfort in the fact that battery life is significantly improved – HP says it can reach up to 14 hours now, compared to just 10 hours before.
Envy AIO 27

The new Envy AIO 27 has also undergone a complete revamp compared to the previous version.
HP moved the motherboard and other key components into the base, thus enabling it to make the system a lot sleeker. It also implemented what it calls a micro-edge display, featuring thinner bezels for a more elegant look. A four-speaker sound bar has even been built into the base, with an easily accessible dial on top for volume control.
Unfortunately, Kaby Lake processors aren’t making their way into the new AIO, and you’ll have to make do with sixth-generation Core i5 or i7 processors. You can also equip it with up to 16GB of memory, a 256GB SSD, and a 2TB HDD.
The dedicated graphics option is fairly modest, topping out at an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB card. Still, that’s more powerful than the default Intel HD 620 graphics, which may come in useful if you’re running more demanding graphics applications on its 2,560 x 1,440-pixel IPS touchscreen display. Don’t be expecting to run any games on it though – the Envy AIO 27 is probably still best suited to things like photo and video editing.
Envy 27 Display

Rounding up the new Envy-branded offerings is the new Envy 27 Display, a 4K 60Hz IPS panel that supports AMD FreeSync and 99 per cent sRGB color accuracy.
There is a wide range of display connectors, including HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and USB-C ports. The latter port can even provide up to 60 watts of power to a compatible device.
