HP Unveils New Consumer PCs and Connected Business Computing Portfolio

New lineup of consumer notebooks, desktops and monitors completes the HP computing ecosystem

HP today revealed a redesigned consumer PC portfolio at 'A New HP World‘ with sleek looks and the latest technologies to enhance the way consumers connect to the people, entertainment and information that matter to them to pursue and achieve their personal passions.

The redesigned HP Pavilion notebook PC line and new HP TouchSmart 610 Consumer PC are built on inspirations from culture, art, fashion and HP‘s MUSE (Materials, Usability, Sensory appeal and Experience) design philosophy.

MUSE includes a mix of materials such as metals, alloys and plastics; easy-to-use features for improved usability; a blend of artisanal elements for sensory appeal; and intuitive features for streamlined experiences.

The new HP Pavilion dv series notebook PCs include impressive features such as HP CoolSense Technology, HP TrueVision HD webcam and HP SimplePass. Select models of the HP Pavilion dv series also feature Beats Audio for a powerful audio experience.

HP Pavilion g-series

The wide-angle, LED backlit LCD screen provides optimal viewing angles, even when reclined, while multi-touch technology allows for an accurate response.

Bringing ideas to life

Eric Khoo, a celebrated Singaporean director and producer from Zhao Wei Films, wanted to make a tribute film to Yoshihiro Tatsumi, the man widely credited with starting the gekiga style of alternative comics in Japan.

Khoo travelled to Japan to meet with Tatsumi and discuss creating a full-length animated Japanese feature film on his life and five of his most important stories. Tatsumi, impressed with Khoo‘s passion and determination, gave his blessings to make the film.

Khoo contacted Phil Mitchell, Infinite Frameworks Executive Creative Director, to help him bring Tatsumi‘s stories to life. Mitchell‘s team of artists used the HP Z200 Workstations to hand draw the anime portions of the film. According to Mitchell, the 2D animation that his team created for 'Tatsumi' required immediate interactive feedback; something the HP workstation was able to deliver.
