Dell has announced three new notebooks that will come powered Qualcomm Snapdragon processors for its performance, battery life, and AI experiences. They actually announced five, but only three covered below are coming our way.

These new XPS 13, Latitude 7455, and Latitude 5455 notebooks are the first of Dell’s to feature “Copilot+ powered by Snapdragon X Elite”.

This is a term coined by Microsoft to refer to devices that come powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus series of processors as well as the Qualcomm Oryon CPU for its performance and battery efficiency, and an integrated Qualcomm Adreno GPU for graphics. The Snapdragon X Series is capable of delivering 45 NPU TOPS all-in-one system on a chip (SoC). Microsoft itself is said to be launching its own Qualcomm powered devices soon

According to Dell, the Copilot+ PCs “take productivity, creativity and communication a step further”. The use of the Snapdragon X Series platforms enables a series of unique features like:

  • Recall: This remembers everything that has been done on the device and stores it securely on the PC, not in the cloud, making it quick and easy to pick up where users left off. Easily search for files and applications that users were working on weeks ago using natural and descriptive language of what they remember to quickly get back to work.
  • Cocreator: Users can create AI generated images using a combination of descriptive words and brushstrokes. Users can iterate the image in real time to make it exactly as they prefer for when they need visuals for a PPT presentation or want to unlock their kids’ creativity.
  • Live Captions: This adds the ability to translate any live or pre-recorded audio from 44 languages to English, making it even more seamless to connect with friends and colleagues on video calls.
  • Windows Studio Effects: Adjusts the lighting and offers new creative filters to enhance call collaboration.
  • Auto Super Resolution: Uses AI to upscale the videos and games in real-time for smooth streaming and gameplay.

The new XPS 13 is Dell’s first XPS to feature up to a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite processor from Qualcomm, 64GB of RAM and a 4TB SSD for storage. Available in Graphite or Platinum, it also has a FHD built-in camera that supports Windows Hello, a dual mic array, and quad speakers. Dell says that this new XPS 13 is “Dell’s thinnest and lightest XPS” weighing up to 1.19kg and only 14.8mm thick, but Dell was still able to get an all-day battery life of up to 27 hours out of it.

It also features a 14-inch QHD+ touch display, quad speakers with AI noise reduction, Qualcomm FastConnect Wi-Fi 7, and optional 5G  for greater connectivity options. According to Dell, its all-aluminium chassis is built with a combination of low emissions and recycled aluminium.
