Dell XPS 13 (2019)
At CES 2018 last year, Dell gave its popular XPS 13 notebook a thorough refresh, updating it with new processors, cooling system, and a redesigned chassis. It was a solid notebook but there was room for improvement.
For 2019, the XPS 13 gets updated again, with smaller but no less important improvements.
The new XPS 13 still comes with Dell’s signature InfinityEdge display with crazy slim bezels. But for this year, they have managed to reposition the web camera to above the display. This was achieved thanks to a super small camera module that is only 2.25mm thick. Unfortunately, you do lose the ability to use Windows Hello logins with the smaller camera.
Inside, the new XPS 13 is powered by Intel’s newest 8th generation Whiskey Lake processors. Users will get a choice of Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors, which can be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB PCIe SSD. The new processors are said to be able to deliver up to 21 hours of battery life.
The other big change is the new Frost finish, which is a fancy way of saying white. The Frost XPS 13 will come with the same arctic white woven glass fiber palm rest as the rose gold model. For folks who prefer something more reserved, there’s also a platinum silver model with a black carbon fiber composite palm rest.

Connectivity options remain the same. You have three USB-C ports in total, two support Thunderbolt 3 while the third supports USB 3.1 Gen 1. You also have a microSD card reader.
The Dell XPS 13 will be available in the US beginning today with prices starting from US$899.99. No word yet on local availability and pricing but we will update this article once we have more news to share.
