According to reports, Dell accidentally published "near-final" specifications of its upcoming XPS 15 notebook that is set to be released early next year.

The XPS 15 is one of the most popular 15-inch notebooks right now thanks to its compact footprint and slim design.

It weighs under 1.8kg and is just 18mm thick at its thickest point, which is impressive for a 15-inch notebook.

Reportedly, the new XPS 15 will be powered by Intel's new quad-core Kaby Lake processors and will feature NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics with up to 4GB of GDDR5 memory.

These are significant updates over the current generation XPS 15. The new Kaby Lake processor will likely bring about minor improvements to compute performance and battery life, while NVIDIA's new 10 series GPUs have been very positively received and will give the new XPS 15 more graphics and gaming chops over the current generation model.

The new XPS 15 will likely debut at CES 2017 in Las Vegas and should be available shortly thereafter. Stay tuned to HardwareZone as we've a team flying up to report what's happening at the world's largest tech show.
