The Snapdragon X Elite chipset is claimed to have a performance of up to 45 TOPS. To give this number some context, Apple’s newest M4 chips unveiled during the Apple iPad Let Loose event have Neural Engines capable of delivering up to 38 TOPS. Qualcomm also had to contend with cheating claims, given how astounding its launch benchmarks were (here and here).
According to Laptop Mag and other notebook tech publications, the new Snapdragon X-powered notebook is likely a successor to the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED.
In tandem with the online launch, the new device will also likely surface at Computex 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan. That's because ASUS had separately announced that they will have a showcase event at the annual PC/notebook conference.
The Taiwanese brand will introduce AI solutions made possible through notebook form factors. More importantly, attendees will likely be able to have a hands-on experience with its "AI PC," referencing the upcoming Snapdragon X-powered laptop.
The offline event at Computex will occur on June 3, 2024, at 4 PM SGT. It will also be live-streamed on ASUS social media platforms, with product announcements covering enterprise, commercial and consumer markets. The ASUS booth sits at booth M0519a, with the ROG booth numbered M0509a.
