ASUS' laptop trade-in programme is back, and will be running from 6 December to 22 December 2024.

Happily, the company is still accepting laptop from all brands, but the trade-in credit has been reduced slightly to a maximum of S$250.

The mechanics of this year's programme is largely the same as the one that ran earlier this year from end March to early April 2024. Customers need to bring their old laptops down to the ASUS Exclusive Store at Bugis Junction, and after evaluation, ASUS e-store credits will be issued which can be used at the ASUS Online Store or the ASUS Exclusive Store in Bugis.

Here's how much credit you'll get for your laptop:

CPU type
Trade-in value
With discrete GPU?
Intel i3 / AMD Ryzen 3
S$60
Extra S$50 credit
Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5
S$80
Intel i7 / AMD Ryzen 7
S$100
Intel i9 / AMD Ryzen 9
S$150
Receive an additional S$50 for ASUS/ROG selected AI PCs trade up

Realistically speaking, most people will only be able to receive a S$200 maximum trade-in value since most of ASUS' AI PCs are newer and would probably be worth more being sold second-hand rather than being traded in.

There are other terms and conditions as well, such as requiring the laptop to be authentic with original parts, and that all the original accessories like the power adapter and charging cables must be included.

Laptops that are non-functional will only be eligible for a S$50 credit.

After receiving the voucher, there are certain limitations too. The credit can only be used on selected ASUS / ROG AI laptop models. Customers will not be able to purchase ASUS ExpertBooks, ASUS Chromebooks and the ASUS ExpertBook BR1204F models with the credit applied.
