Apple ID might be rebranded as Apple Account later this year.
Apple ID might be rebranded later this year according to MacRumors.
Sources told MacRumors that Apple is considering the new Apple Account name and the rebranding could happen as soon as this year. If it does, Apple Account would launch this new name alongside the release of iOS 18 and macOS 15. It will replace current mentions of "Apple ID" with "Apple Account
Apple ID is the account that users have to access all Apple Services and make all their devices work together seamlessly via iCloud.
It is unclear why Apple could be making this change. Personally speaking, Apple Account has a better ring to it, but only marginally.
Also, it's important to remember that Apple often has multiple names prepared. In the case of the Vision Pro headset, some names tossed around for its OS included realityOS and xrOS. The company eventually settled on visionOS.
