Note: This article was first published on 2 July 2025 and we’ve added more stores to the list on 5th July 2025.

According to a discussion in our forums, popular laptop retailer Atrix Dynamics has closed several of its physical stores without any clear indication of the state of the shop closures. Similarly, this was also discussed on Reddit. Store locations where forum users have confirmed their sightings of the store closure are as follows (including the store at Funan, where we’ve snapped the photo for the lead image on this story):

  • Funan
  • Nex
  • PLQ
  • Tampines Mall
  • JEM mall
  • Jurong Point
  • AMK Hub
  • Sim Lim Square

According to CaptiaLand’s listing of the store at Tampines Mall, it’s demarcated as ‘Temporarily Closed’. In most other searches on Capitaland, a search on the store will lead to a list of results, but most of which head to a 404 page.

Online at the brand’s official Shopee Mall store, the cancellation rate, at the time of reporting this story, is at 56%. This figure is calculated by the system based on the percentage of orders out of the total orders that were either cancelled by the seller or the system in the past seven days. So that’s another telltale sign that something isn’t right, in addition to the store’s “On Vacation” status.

For avoidance of doubt, we tried the store’s online chat to see if we can get any responses (since it has a high score), but none came up even after a whole day of waiting.

For those unaware, Atrix was a fast-growing tech retailer that has been in the local scene since 2016, and marked their presence notably through their participation in the local tech shows we’ve often covered (such as over here). According to their press release previously, over a span of five years (from 2018 to 2022), they’ve clocked in over $150 million in laptop sales revenue and was the top seller in Lazada’s electronics category in 2022. Since then, from late 2023, they’ve marked their presence more prominently through physical stores across many parts of the island and even launched a close online partnership with Lazada for an online store to support their O2O business concept. This means they’ve online to offline store partnerships (via tech brands like ASUS, Dell, Lenovo and more) and they’ve even established an Atrixmall e-commerce store.

At the point of reporting this, the Lazada store is nowhere to be found online, their www.atrixmall.com e-commerce page is unavailable, and so is their official business page that’s now resulting in a 404 error.

According to one of our contacts in the industry who doesn’t wish to be named mentioned, “We will have fewer outlets to sell our products, but we think customers can still buy our products from other retailers.”

We’ve reached out to additional industry contacts for their comments, and we’ll update this story as relevant information becomes available.

A search on Bizfile for “Atrix Dynamics” indicates that the company’s current status at the time of reporting is still a “Live Company”, but we’ll update this story if there are further changes.

For those who’ve been following the local tech scene as long as we’ve been around, this turn of events might seem like a repeat of a previous case.
