Silverstone has announced the local launch of the Redline RL05, a new line of gaming cases with the features and looks to attract gamers on a budget
While Silverstone cases are usually staid, all-black affairs, the RL05 features a striking red-accented front panel with an aggressive honeycomb mesh that marks it as a gaming chassis through and through.
Airflow was clearly a priority here as well, and the case ships with two 140mm LED fans on the front. This means that you’ll get a positive pressure setup right out of the box, which translates into reduced dust buildup as there’s less chance of it getting sucked in through gaps in the chassis.
Furthermore, the interior of the case features discrete cooling zones for more directed airflow, including a shroud at the bottom that serves to hide your PSU cabling as well. There’s a large acrylic side window, so this feature will definitely come in handy.
Should the two 140mm fans prove insufficient, there is also space for a further two 120mm or 140mm fans at the top, and a 120mm fan at the rear. Alternatively, you can mount up to a 280mm radiator up top.

One thing to note is that storage mounting options are slightly limited, a design decision probably motivated by the goal of maximizing air intake. Instead, the single drive cage has been confined to the PSU compartment, and there are two drive mounts on the side as well. All in all, there is space for just two side-mounted 2.5-inch drives, and two further 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives in the drive cage.
Finally, Silverstone also included a USB 3.0 Type-C connector on the front I/O for those who want easy access to the new interface.
The Redline RL05 will be available locally starting on 21 June at just S$98.
