Sapphire Introduces Its First Silent R-Series Card, R7 250 Ultimate
Based on AMD's GCN architecture, the R7 250 Ultimate is the first card in the Sapphire range to contain all of the features of the R7 features, and at the same time utilize a passive heatsink and heatsink cooler without a fan.
Sapphire has revealed a passively cooled card in its new R7 series, the R7 250 Ultimate.
The first silent card in the Sapphire range to contain all of the features of the R7 series and based on the GCN architecture from AMD, it utilizes a passive heatsink and heatsink cooler without a fan to deliver silent cooling, and increased reliability as it has no mechanical moving parts.
With gaming support at 1080p with moderate settings, it offers core clock speeds of 800MHz, and 1GB DDR5 memory clocked at 4500MHz. Displayport 1.2 and 3GHz HDMI 1.4a outputs on this card support resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 such as Quad HD or 4K displays. AMD 3D technology supports the latest Stereoscopic content over HDMI at 60Hz per eye, 120Hz total. The Dual-Link DVI-I output supports DVI monitors with resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 and provides analogue support for legacy VGA monitors.
AMD Eyefinity makes working with three monitors possible, with the series cards capable of simultaneous output of multiple, independent audio streams, allowing the correct audio content to be associated with different applications on different screens. Communication with the host PC is optimized with the implementation of the PCIe 3.0 interface, and multiple cards can be used to further enhance performance in CrossFireX mode.
