Patriot, a maker of mobile accessories, computer and USB/flash memory, has launched a new EP PRO-II SDXC card that supports UHS-II-capable devices.

Designed to support the latest generation of high-performing devices (like video recording devices that shoot in 4K), the card adheres to the new SD 4.0 specs, and has read and write speeds of up to 280MB/s and 250MB/s respectively.

Though designed for UHS-II devices, the new EP PRO-II SDXC card is still backwards compatible with mainstream SD 3.0 and SD 2.0-capable devices.

The Patriot EP PRO-II SDXC will be available in the first quarter of 2015. Prices range from US$119.99 to US$199.99, with capacities ranging from 16GB to 64GB. It's also backed by a 5-year warranty.
