Local distributor Corbell Technology Pte Ltd organized a MSI Z77 MPower motherboard launch event. The board held stage, together with its strong supporting cast of MSI small form factor motherboards, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 and 650 graphics cards.
Mr Eric Lin, a MSI Section Manager, introduced the MSI Z77 MPower motherboard to the audience.
Mr Eric Lin, a MSI Section Manager from the company's APAC Sales Department, graced the event and gave an in-depth introduction to the MSI Z77 MPower board. This is MSI's flagship Intel Z77 Express chipset motherboard to be "OC Certified". OC Certified is MSI's stamp of approval from their overclocking testing procedure to guarantee stable overclocking results. The Military Class burn-in test for OC Certified status is the 24-hour Prime95 burn-in test with a liquid-cooled overclocked CPU.

According to Corbell, there is a strong demand for small form factor motherboards and they took the chance to showcase such boards like the MSI H77MA-G43, a micro-ATX board that is based on the Intel H77 Express chipset. This board is ideal for system builders who do not need to overclock their rigs as the board doesn't support CPU overclocking.
Intel H77 chipset-based motherboards are unable to split their sixteen PCIe Gen 3 lanes; hence, they have only a single PCIe Gen 3.0 x16 expansion slot. Shown here is the MSI H77MA-G43 micro-ATX motherboard.
The other boards on display were the MSI B75IA-E33, a mini-ITX board that features the Intel B75 Express chipset. This chipset is akin to a stripped down version of the Intel Z77 Express chipset and is targeted at small business owners. The board is similar to the H77MA-G43 as both their chipsets are unable to split their PCIe Gen 3.0 lanes.
The MSI B75IA-E33 mini-ITX board supports overclocked DDR3 memory modules that have been rated up to 2400+MHz, up to a maximum capacity of 16GB.
The Intel Z77 Express chipset-based mini-ITX boards were also on display. The board has onboard Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0+HS modules, which will enable wireless connections for supported devices.
The MSI Z77IA E53 mini-ITX board features both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity features. Like its B75 counterpart, it supports OC memory modules rated up to 2800+MHz, up to a maximum capacity of 16GB.
It was not a typical launch event where there was a lack of audience engagement. Corbell took the opportunity to hold a mini-Diablo contest where the players challenged each other to see who could kill Bellial, the last boss of Act 2 in Diablo 3, in the shortest time. The winner of this challenge stood to win attractive gaming devices from Roccat and he was none other than our HWZ forum member who has the online moniker of e8raptor!

To cater to the gaming needs of consumers, there were a range the newly launched NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 and 650 cards on display too. One of the highlights of the display was the MSI N650 PE 1GD5 that supports the TransThermal feature that we first witnessed at Computex 2012. We finally see its implementation of the Power Edition of the GeForce GTX 650 MSI cards.
The MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC card features Twin Frozr III Thermal Design to keep its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 chip cool even when the card is overclocked.
The MSI N650 Power Edition 1GD5 graphics card that features the TransThermal cooling feature for with modular cooling fans options.
The king of the hill was the MSI N660Ti Power Edition 2GD5 that sports the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 GPU, and Twin Frozr IV thermal design with Dust Removal technology.
The highlight of the evening was the first prize of the lucky draw for the attendees of the MSI Z77 MPower launch. A lucky member of the audience managed to walk away with the Z77 MPower motherboard!
