The Lian Li Edge Gold ATX PSU is now available and comes with two removable components

Lian Li has just dropped the Edge Gold ATX power supply unit (PSU) for the new year, and it comes with a slew of improvements over the original Edge PSU. Whilst keeping its T-shaped marque profile, Lian Li has also bundled the newer Edge Gold with longer cables that makes it easier to install in dual-chamber casings like the Cougar FV270 and the GameMax N80, as well as standard tower ones.

Arguably what makes the Edge Gold even more attractive to DIY-ers is its two removable components, such as the USB/PWM expansion hub and 120mm cooling fan's magnetic removable dust filter that allows for easier maintenance. In addition, the Edge Gold PSU features EPCOS and Japanese capacitors, which allow for more stable and reliable power delivery to give PC enthusiasts a better peace of mind.

It is available in four wattages: 1200W, 1000W, 850W, and 750W and Lian Li is covering the Edge Gold PSU with a 10-year manufacturer warranty, while the removable USB/PWM hub is backed by a 2-year warranty and is only bundled with the 1000- and 1200W SKUs.

Availability and pricing

The Lian Li Edge Gold ATX PSU comes in black and white variants, although the 750W version comes only in back. The PSU is also ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.0 compliant. According to the Lian Li's press release, they are available from Newegg with prices starting from US$99 for the 750W version, while the 1200W Edge Gold will set you back by US$179.99 (prices are not inclusive of shipping and related taxes).
