Intel Ships Cedar Trail Atom processors, the D2500 and D2700

Despite rumors of the delay in the launch of the 32nm Cedar Trail Atom processors, Intel has added the D2500 and D2700 to their official price list.

Fears of Intel's latest Atom processors would be delayed to November this year are unfounded. Despite the rumors of an issue stemming from their DirectX 10.1 graphics drivers, Intel has forged ahead and placed the D2500 and D2700 on its official price list.

The D2500 is priced at US$42 while the D2700 is priced at US$52. These prices are valid for a minimum order of 1,000 units and above. The two CPUs are based on Intel's 32nm fabrication and feature two processing cores and 1MB of cache. The D2500 is clocked at 1.86GHz with a 400MHz integrated graphics core and supports two threads, while its pricier sibling runs at 2.13GHz/640MHz and handles four threads courtesy of Intel's Hyper-Threading technology. Both have a 10W TDP (Thermal Design Power). The two processors would be relegated to powering low-end desktop solutions. Cedar Trail is expected to deliver an increase over Pine Trail chips, the existing N455 and N475 processors.
