Gigabyte Launches Flagship Z77X-UP7 Motherboard
Featuring the robust 32+3+2 power design with Ultra Durable 5 high current capable components including 60A rated IR3550 PowIRstages chips from IR, the Z77X-UP7 motherboard is able to share the workload between 32 phases, ensuring lower working temperatures and maximum CPU power delivery.
Gigabyte has launched their latest Intel Z77 Express chipset-based motherboard, the Z77X-UP7 that is targeted at overclockers and power users. We first laid eyes on it earlier this year at Computex and were impressed by its slew of high-end features and components to meet the needs of the most demanding users.
Featuring the robust 32+3+2 power design with Ultra Durable 5 high current capable components including 60A rated IR3550 PowIRstages chips from the company, International Rectifier (IR), the Z77X-UP7 motherboard is able to share the workload between 32 phases, ensuring lower working temperatures and maximum CPU power delivery. We have had witnessed the ability of the new PowIRstages chips that are essentially single package, single silicon MOSFETs to deliver power with less heat; thereby, increasing overall efficiency and longevity of the board.
Utilizing the exclusive All Digital Engine to deliver maximum power to Intel Ivy Bridge processors, offering the industry's most scalable graphics platform, with support for both 4-way ATI CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI. With PCIe 3.0 x8 connectivity on 4 slots, the motherboard provides ultra smooth 3D rendering, speedy frame rates and enhanced graphics capabilities due to the presence of its PLX PEX 8747 chip. Also, the single black PCI Express x16 slot provides a direct link to the CPU, enabling it to bypass the PLX chip and provide the fastest possible connection for single graphics card benching.
The Z77X-UP7 also integrates the onboard BIOS Switcher, OC Touch, and Thin Fin Cooling Design, which features ultra thin metal fins in the Gigabyte signature OC Orange look and feel. As a point of interest, motherboards equipped with Ultra Durable 5 technology can be easily recognized by the "UP" in their monikers; hence, distinguishing themselves from the previous generation boards featuring the older Ultra Durable 4 technology.
