The demands of cryptocurrency miners have sent the prices of GPUs soaring in some markets. They’ve also led to many cards being short in supply. Vendors like ASUS and ASRock have responded by releasing dedicated mining motherboards and graphics cards, so it’s not surprising to see FSP try to tap into this with an industrial-grade 2,000W power supply.
Mining rigs can comprise over 10 graphics cards, so overall power consumption is pretty high.
The FSP2000-A0AGPBI 2000W PSU is one of the few on the market dedicated to mining, and it features a higher efficiency 230V input that is preferable to the 115V offered on other power supplies.
In addition, it uses an active Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit design with high-load electrical components that is capable of the full range of input voltage and a higher power factor.
The 2000W of power is also crucial to ensuring sufficient power and smooth operation without any power interruptions. The PSU offers 16 sets of PCIe 6+2 connectors that can support up to 16 graphics cards at once, in addition to a fully modular design that will make it easier to connect or disconnect all your hardware.
Furthermore, because mining rigs require stability above all else and need to operate round the clock, the PSU has also been tested for high temperature and humidity tolerance, overvoltage, overcurrent, and long-term operation.
To help with the power bill, the power supply also boasts an 80 PLUS Platinum certification, which should go some ways toward helping you save on electricity bills and widen your mining profit margins.
A single high-wattage PSU is preferable to running two units in parallel, and this setup also means that there are fewer points of failure to worry about.
