Enermax has announced new Platimax D.F. power supplies, including the flagship EPF1200EWT, a 1,200W unit that is around the same size as more compact 750W models.

It measures just 160mm long, so it’s definitely one of the smallest 80 Plus Platinum 1,200W PSUs on the market. It’s also fully modular, with individually sleeved cables, just like most of the other PSUs in the Platimax D.F. series. At this size, it's a good fit for system builders that want a smaller chassis but are unwilling to cut back on the PSU wattage.

In addition, it supports a semi-passive mode of operation and a Dust Free Rotation (DFR) technology that enables the fan to blow dust out of the inside by spinning in the opposite direction when the PSU powers up.

Alternatively, there’s a dedicated switch that lets you activate DFR mode any time you like.

However, the power supply only comes with six PCIe connectors, compared to the eight generally found on PSUs of this capacity.

The EPF1200EWT has a recommended retail price of US$250 and is already listed on Amazon, but it looks like it’s still out of stock.
