Biostar Sneaks Out Intel Z97 Motherboard Photo

While the new processors are directly compatible with the previous Intel 8-series motherboards using the LGA1150 CPU socket, Intel has taken the opportunity to update some of the features on the newer boards bearing the 9-series marketing name. More details of the official chipset features will be made available soon.
Meanwhile Biostar’s Hi-Fi Z97WE sports a yellow/gold on black motif and prominently features their Puro Hi-Fi audio technology. This consists of an independent audio power design with a built-in amplifier, dedicated ‘audio-grade’ capacitors for each audio channel and independent power delivery design to reduce electrical noise. All of these are demarcated by a yellow strip running on the rear-end of the PCB to signify audio-centric components for the Puro Hi-Fi feature. Apparently, legacy PCI bus has been removed on the newer Intel chipsets and this prompted Biostar to incorporate an Asmedia ASM1083 PCIe x1 to 32-bit PCI bridge to help the board support a pair of PCI slots. Other notable features include dual PEG slots, dual Gigabit LAN ports, basic on-board control switches and a NGFF M.2 connector for new generation solid state drives.
