The AMD R7 265 GPU is based on the rebranded Pitcairn (Curacao) graphics core, with a clock speed that has been rated up to 925MHz.; unlike the R7 260X GPU, which uses a Bonaire variant core. On the other hand, the AMD R7 270 is based on the Curacao Pro core, which is a variant of the Pitcairn XT. Therefore, the R7 265 is positioned as one to narrow the gap between the R9 and R7 series GPUs.
In terms of its features, the R7 265 supports PC gaming technologies like the AMD Mantle API, CrossFire configurations of up to 2 GPUs only, and AMD Eyefinity for multi-display setup. However, it doesn’t support AMD TrueAudio despite how this audio technology has found its way into the lower-end R7 260X and R7 260 GPUs.
Here are the specifications of the AMD R7 265 and its comparative GPUs in brief. Despite having lower-rated memory modules than the AMD R7 260X, the R7 265 has a 256-bit memory bus that is double the former's. In addition, the stream processor count of the R7 265 stands in-between that of the R9 270 and the R7 260X.
