AMD and NVIDIA release optimized drivers for Mafia III and Gears of War 4

AMD and NVIDIA have released new drivers built to provide an optimal experience in some of the latest titles, including Mafia III and Gears of War 4. This is in keeping with both companies’ commitment to provide timely updates for the latest games.

AMD’s Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.10.1 also adds a new CrossFire profile for Shadow Warrior 2, and comes with numerous other bug fixes.

More significantly, AMD highlighted support for Oculus’ Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW) feature on the Radeon RX 470 and 480 (NVIDIA already unofficially supports this). ASW generates synthetic frames from previously rendered frames in order to maintain a smooth experience and reduce the rendering workload, thus lowering the minimum requirement for VR-ready PCs.

On NVIDIA’s end, its driver version 373.06 is optimized for Shadow Warrior 2 as well, and ships with an updated SLI profile for Battlefield 1.
