The Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro Ice may looks like a "white" version of the brand's flagship X870E Aorus Master motherboard but there are some notable differences. For instance, the I/O Aorus lighting here is more subtle.
Like most contemporary high-end motherboards, the X870E Aorus Pro Ice features a full-metal thermal design and durable heatsinks to keep your system cool and efficient.
Gigabyte has included ventilation openings on the I/O shield, which apparently helps with dissipating heat from the VRM area.
Here's a closer look at the integrated I/O shield's cover, which also houses a RGB LED accent in the shape of the Aorus logo.
The motherboard comes with four DDR5 slots that that supports a maximum of 256GB of RAM and the DDR5 8000 standard when overclocked.
For storage, Gigabyte has included four SATA-III ports, which is standard fare for motherboards of this class.
It also comes with 16+2+2 power stages that are rated for up to 80A, with what Gigabyte calls "Premium VRM Thermal Armor" that comes with multiple grooves for improved airflow.
Gigabyte also says it has a four times larger surface area (than previous models) for enhanced heat dissipation, and boosts MOSFET cooling.
The X870E Aorus Pro Ice has a huge one-piece M.2 heatsink that features a tool-less design called M.2 EZ-Latch Click, which makes removing and installing the said heatsink really easy.
There are four M.2 slots with three being M.2 UD Slot PG5 slots that support PCIe 5.0 and the last being a standard M.2 slot that runs on PCIe 4.0.
The primary M.2 slot also features an individual heatsink that can be easily removed without the need for a tool.
There's also a PCIe EZ-Latch Plus feature, which is really a button, that ejects the graphics card easily with a single click. But Gigabyte isn't the first to put this out, as this feature first appeared on ROG motherboards a couple of years back.
Last but not least, Gigabyte has included a dedicated backplate to reinforce the PCIe 5.0 x16 for use with modern and future heavy graphics card.
