PC enthusiasts who are also sneaker pimps finally have the ultimate PC casing that they have been waiting for - the Cooler Master Sneaker X pc casing.

2/19

Cooler Master says the Sneaker X was designed as an awe-inspiring work of art that pays homage to the iconic sneaker culture. And it really shows, especially when you see it in person.

3/19

Based on the CaseMod2020 Award-winning JMDF Design, the Sneaker X is made of a combination of aluminium, plastic and steel, and comes in a Classic Red colour.

4/19

With a dimensions of 650x306x348mm (LxWxH), the Sneaker X is quite similar to other Small-Form Factor (SFF) PC casings.

5/19

It also comes with pretty much all of the components needed in a barebone PC case; here we see the pre-installed Cooler Master MF120 Halo fan. All you really need is your own graphics card, CPU, RAM and SSD to get the Sneaker X up and running.

6/19

Taking the Sneaker X casing apart is relatively easy, as the top lid is held by four screws that you can remove without the need for tools - they can be tightened snuggedly by hands.

7/19

I neglected to mention earlier that the Sneaker X does not come with a built-in motherboard too (unlike, say, Intel-now-ASUS NUC systems). Cooler Master worked with local custom PC builder, Invader PC to provide us with a Sneaker X build that comes with Mini-ITX ROG Strix motherboard.

8/19

The power socket can be found at the heel of the shoe...sorry, I meant PC casing.

9/19

Cooler Master has smartly hidden the AIO radiator cooler (Cooler Master Flux 360 Special Edition) beneath the Sneaker X.

10/19

It might not look like it, but installing or changing components inside the Sneaker X is remarkably simple and straight forward.

11/19

Inside the packaging, there are a 400mm PCI-e 4.0 x16 Riser Cable (the graphics card has to be installed on its side), PWM Fan and an ARGB controller. Yes, the Sneaker X has some wicked RGB lighting.

12/19

Unfortunately, due to its small (and rather cramped) interior, the Sneaker X can only support graphics cards that are no larger than 304x137x61mm (LxWxH). This is important, because existing RTX 40-series graphics card such as the GeForce RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4090 are incredibly huge - and won't fit here.

13/19

Cooler Master could only fit its SFX 850W Gold PSU inside the Sneaker X, which would have been inadequate to power the juice-hungry higher-end GeForce RTX 40-series cards anyway. Not to mention the tight interior will not be able to provide room for an efficient thermal dissipation.

14/19

Lifting the Sneaker X is easy too. There are handles on both sides (of the top) that allows you to carry and position the casing whereever you want.

15/19

Of course, Cooler Master had to ship the Sneaker X in a, what else, but a "shoe" box? Brilliant.

16/19

When turned on, the Sneaker X looks absolutely beautiful with the surrounding RGB lights.

17/19

What I like about the RGB here is that it's not overdone, and the lights are in places where you don't quite expect it.

18/19

The Sneaker X will look stunning on any desk, and is sure to be a conversation starter when you have visitors over.

19/19

If you're wondering, my Nike Jordan sneaker here is a US size 9. Yes, the Sneaker X is not small and I can't imagine it can be installed with the latest and fastest CPU or graphics card, but it is still a charming PC case and will make an excellent display next to your sneakers' collection. It is available from Cooler Master's official Lazada store for $1,999. For full system builds, Invader PC has you covered here.
