Apple might unveil not one, but two external displays by early 2026

Three years have passed since Apple launched the Studio Display.

Apple could release two external monitors either later this year or by early 2026.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is gearing up for the mass production of two monitors, codenamed J427 and J527.

One is expected to succeed the three-year-old Apple Studio Display, while the other is said to feature a different screen size and specs.

Gurman previously shared that Apple was developing “multiple new external monitors” powered by Apple Silicon. A major leak in August further suggests that the A19 Pro will power the upcoming Apple Studio Display 2. The same chipset is found in the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro.

Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, shared earlier this year that Apple could unveil a 27-inch mini-LED display. The switch to mini-LED would deliver deeper blacks and greater contrast compared to standard LED technology.

If Apple proceeds with a launch this year, the two new monitors may debut alongside the M5-powered iPad Pros and the Vision Pro sometime in October.
