It's a great time to be a PC gamer, not only do you have super fast and powerful graphics cards like the , you now have super fast monitors like Viewsonic's new XG2530.

The XG2530 comes with a stand that swivels, tilts, and adjusts for height. It also features a 24.5-inch TN panel display and supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

While these specs may sound pedestrian these days, the XG2530's party trick is its high refresh rate. How high? Try 240Hz. This makes it one of the quickest monitors available today.

In addition to the high refresh rate, the XG2530 also has a fast response time of just 1ms and it also supports AMD's FreeSync technology.

The XG2530 also has a blue light filter function that claims to help reduce eye fatigue.

Overwatch players will also be happy to know that the XG2530 comes with a special ColorX mode that was designed specially for Overwatch. In this mode, the black level settings, refresh rate, and response time will be calibrated for optimal performance on Overwatch.

And in terms of connectivity, the XG2530 accepts two HDMI inputs and a single DisplayPort input. The XG2530 also comes with two built-in USB 3.0 ports, allowing it to function as a USB hub. It also has built-in stereo speakers.

The Viewsonic XG2530 is priced at S$719, which presents a bit of a dilemma for gamers. Because for a bit more, they could get a 4K display. Do you want more pixels and a sharper image or a higher refresh rate and smoother visuals? Decisions, decisions...
