The Razer DeathAdder series of gaming mice is one of the brand's most popular products, and now, we are graced with another model in the series, the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed. Compared to the last one launched in the series, the DeathAdder V3 Pro, the V3 HyperSpeed is lighter, smaller, and significantly less expensive at S$159.

One of the biggest highlights of this new gaming mouse is its sub-60g weight. At just 55g, it competes favourably with the many ultralight gaming mice out there like the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2. Interestingly, it also gives another option for those considering Razer’s own Viper series, which has always been about being lighter and smaller than other mice from the brand. That being said, one key difference between these two series is the shape, with Viper sporting a symmetrical design, as opposed to the contoured right-handed design of the DeathAdder.

Keeping the comparison within the DeathAdder series, it's helpful to see how it compares to the "Pro" version. Razer provided a comparison table outlining some key differences, which sheds more light on how someone might choose between them. The V3 HyperSpeed uses a Focus X 26K Optical Sensor which goes up to 26,000DPI, while the V3 Pro has the company's higher-end Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor. The former has lower max DPI, IPS and acceleration of 26,000, 500 IPS and 40G, respectively. This is likely the key factor that allows the DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed to come in at a lower price compared to the DeathAdder V3 Pro's $229 price tag.

The V3 HyperSpeed is smaller in all dimensions, so those who find the Pro just slightly too large will appreciate the new model. Note that both mice support up to 8000Hz polling, but that requires a separate purchase of the HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, which costs $44.90.

Other specs of the Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed include:

  • Support for wired connectivity in addition to RF (Razer HyperSpeed Wireless)
  • Up to 100 hours battery life (at 1000Hz polling)
  • Up to 20 hours battery life (at 8000Hz polling with optional HyperPolling Wireless Dongle)
  • Right-handed design — no left-handed model currently available

With the number of units sold numbering over 10 million, the Razer DeathAdder series has no lack of fans. The new Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed should be no exception, and will especially appeal to those who want a mouse for eSports games that's also smaller and lighter than the other DeathAdders already available.
