New Microsoft Peripherals Designed for Windows 8 Coming Soon?

Online sources have leaked images of new input devices from Microsoft, seemingly designed with Windows 8 tablets and ultra-portable PCs in mind: the Wedge Touch Mouse and the Wedge Mobile Keyboard.

With Windows 8 due for release on 26th October, expect to see a multitude of new hardware options from Microsoft to coincide with the launch.

Ubergizmo and The Verge have already leaked images of two new input devices, the Wedge Touch Mouse and the Wedge Mobile Keyboard, both of which seem to be designed specifically with tablets and ultra-portable Windows 8 devices in mind.

The Wedge Touch Mouse has a distinctive 'wedge-shape', and looks somewhat like a block of cheese. It is likely to be a multi-touch device, similar to the company's existing Touch Mouse, which would make it ideal for Windows 8's Metro UI. It appears to be very small and compact, and will probably be using Bluetooth (3.0) technology. According to The Verge, who cite a Best Buy listing, it will retail for US$60.99
