Logitech has announced its latest addition to the G Series lineup, the G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL Wireless Gaming Keyboard.

Not to be confused with the higher-end G915 TKL, the new G515 TKL aims to provide gamers with a sleek, low-profile design without compromising on performance or features for a more accessible price.

As its name suggests, the G515 TKL is a tenkeyless keyboard, offering a compact keyboard for gamers who have little desk space. At just 22mm high, the keyboard features low-profile switches with a 1.3mm actuation point and 3.2mm total key travel, which helps to enhance responsiveness.

Out of the box, the G915 TKL comes with a 1.8m USB-A to USB-C cable, a USB extender, and the 2.4GHz Lightspeed wireless dongle. Something to note is that the dongle is a 2:1 dongle which means that you can pair it with up to two compatible Lightspeed devices (for example a mouse and the keyboard) freeing up a USB port on your PC.

Powering the G515 is a rechargeable lithium polymer battery that claims to last up to 36 hours when connected over the 2.4GHz wireless connection with the backlighting at full brightness.

To enhance the typing experience, the G515 incorporates a sound-dampening foam layer, pre-lubricated switches, integrated stabilisers, and premium PBT keycaps. In terms of switches, the keyboard will come in either Tactile or Linear switches depending on your preference. Overall, Logitech says that the keyboard should provide for a smooth typing experience.

Additionally, the G515 supports Logitech’s Keycontrol technology, which allows users to assign up to 15 different actions per key, create macros, audio cues, and more. The keyboard also supports Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless technology, Lightsync, and offers tri-mode connectivity.

As compared to the G915 TKL, the G515 TKL opts for a more affordable plastic construction as compared to the aluminium chassis of the G915 TKL. The G915 TKL also includes dedicated media controls and a volume roller which are features missing on the G515 TKL.

However, one thing to take into consideration is that the G515 TKL is equipped with newer low-profile GL switches with a revised stem design for potentially less keycap wobble and broader keycap compatibility.
