If you are a PC user shopping for a mechanical keyboard, you have no shortage of options. But if you are a Mac user like me, there are only a handful of brands that you can turn to.

So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered a new mechanical keyboard option for Macs called Lofree.

As you can probably tell from the images here, Lofree is a vintage typewriter-inspired mechanical keyboard. It is also wireless too and uses Bluetooth technology.

It features the same layout as Apple's Magic Keyboard and uses Gateron Blue mechanical switches. It also has backlights, which makes typing in the dark easier.

In addition, it features a large 4,000mAh lithium-ion battery, which Lofree claims can provide it a battery life of up to 15 months if you use it with the backlights turned off.

Even with the back lights at maximum brightness, the Lofree can provide up to 720 hours of battery life - that's 30 days.

And despite the Mac keyboard layout, the Lofree is compatible with PCs too, and it can also be used with iOS and Android devices.

The Lofree certainly ticks many of the right boxes for me, and my only reservation would be the unusual spherical keycaps that it uses. It might make typing a little difficult or might require a little more getting used to. It is hard to tell without the actual keyboard to try on.

The Lofree has an MSRP of US$99 (~S$140), but if you can get it for US$74 (~$105) by being an early adopter on Indiegogo here.
